A Peak at Our 2012 Christmas Tree

This year I went ahead and put my tree up before Thanksgiving since we were not hosting the Thanksgiving day dinner. I am so glad that I did because the last few days I've been so sick with a really bad cold. I've gotten some of the house decorated but just taking my time and not stressing over it. When I get all the Thanksgiving decor boxed and put away and all the Christmas magic done I'll try to do a video tour of our home. Wishing all of you a Happy week.
 Much LOVE~ Jen

Puppy which has not been named yet....

Here is a video clip of our puppy that is hanging around. We've not found the owner yet but he sure seems happy to be here. It keeps us busy but he sure is a sweetie. Plus, hubby is really taken a liking to him which has amazed me so maybe it will be a good thing after all. Our son is not quite sure of the dog yet since he is still very puppy like. Gracie the cat is very aggravated about it. So there is a little more spoiling for her so she doesn't feel replace or anything. Life is exciting!

Our Turkey and Ham day!

Trying for the last two days to remember IN EVERYTHING give Thanks! The hubby was sick all last week and now it was pass on to me. In spite of sickness it was good to be able to have the family together. Enjoyed going to my mama and daddy's for a beautiful dinner.

We are so BLESSED!

A Puppy is all I need!

Well look here what shows up this morning and of course HUNGRY HUNGRY HUNGRY! I am a goner when it has to do with a poor hungry animal. Now all I gotta do is rationalize keeping him.

He's a CUTIE isn't he...

I'll let you know what  happens....as far as now he won't leave my porch.

Barefoot Contessa - Recipes - Roast Turkey with Truffle Butter

Well, my friends I am so looking forward to Thanksgiving at my parents house this year. We always have those traditional food items year after year that our family members request. Last year I had everyone here at my house and I roasted the turkey using Ina Garten recipe~ Here is the link

Barefoot Contessa - Recipes - Roast Turkey with Truffle Butter

It was absolutely wonderful and so moist! That being said my mama has requested that I do the turkey again this year. Here is a pictures of last year.

I've already started planning and getting the house ready for christmas since I'm not hosting Thanksgiving day. I'm still in the process of getting my decorations out of storage and coming up in my head what I want to do. Although, I don't want to get ahead though and skip right on past Thanksgiving so I want to post a few pictures of my fall decorations again before Christmas starts.

It has been a wonderful fall season and I truly thank HIM for all that he has given us.
He Greatly Blesses!
Hope you enjoy this Gaither video. Lots of Love~ Jen

Getting in my "THANKFUL" Post before the weekend ends.

I've had a busy week, but want to take the time to share with ya'll my "Thankful" post.

First off...... I want to thank my father in law who has served our country and fought for our freedom. I am thankful for him and how he is a strong individual to fight for his family and provide for all of our needs. I know none of us show our appreciation enough to him for what all he has done for his family. We love you Pawpaw! Happy Veterans Day.

Second.....This week was my birthday and my family and friends went beyond my expectations to make me feel so loved and cherished. My sweetheart made me a card and put this beside my bed for when I got up that morning. He truly knows my love of chocolate...

That evening had a party at my parents with Cajun Gumbo and Custard. My mama is my favorite cook for sure. Love her so much and all the hard work she put into making my day so special!

Third....I'm thankful for this baby girl.
and this sweet handsome boy too!
and for the special bond these two share.

so so much to Thank HIM for!

First Saturday in November and Thankful!

Well, I woke up at the crack of dawn this morning. Jumped into the shower and dressed in my denims ready to hit the stores with my Aunt JoAnn. Time seems to disappear when your shopping. Five hours later (which seemed to be about an hour), six stores later and feeling pretty good about the Christmas items I had bought. Trying so hard to get my stuff bought up before all the heavy traffic, long lines and a frustrated husband happens.  Since this is the beginning of November... and gotta say I probably won't post everyday what I am Thankful for, but thought I'd try posting some things on the weekend of the past week that I've been thankful for.

First ~ My Jesus that is with me everyday in life. He guides me, protects me, loves me, and saves me.
Second~My helpmate, David that is so faithful to provide for us.
Third~My son, Aaron that has given this mama a heart full of love for her boy. Never knew I could love someone so much.
Fourth~ Our parents that love each of us with our faults and all, and give us of their time and love. So blessed with such a great heritage.

~This is just a few and will continue my list next weekend. ~ xoxo to all Jen
