The take down

It's time again to take down the seasonal items & clean up the house.
What a chore!
I love it though.... always have.... probably, always will.

Wanna see the mess?.....lol

So, it is still a mess quite a bit around here, but the living room is pretty much decorated for CHRISTMAS.
Hmmm,
I wonder if Morgan the elf will show tonight???

Remembering the day

Thanksgiving Day
2014
In my heart and soul, I want to be ever present of the God that is with me at all times. I had really this year been thinking about how I really wanted to be mindful of the meaning of Thanksgiving, and that it is all because of our God of Salvation. I had been reading some of the prayers that our past presidents had written, and really stirred by the one George Washington gave. Here is a little clip that my husband recorded of my reading the prayer (please excuse the way I read it), and then my father prayed over us before we gathered around the table.

This was our Thanksgiving Day with our family, and I pray that we will each strive to seek the Lord's will in every aspect of our lives, and that we may live to please and give praise to Him that created each and everyone of us.

The day was busy and went by to quick, but there were precious memories made as we watched the children bond together.  I praise HIM for all that he is and all that he does within our families!
God is so good to us!

My Blessings

Taking a few minutes to sit down and share my list of Thanksgiving.  The days just go by, and as a momma it just seems like the time goes by so quick and hurried ....that I mentally have to stop and really truly think of all of my blessings.

~ I am thankful for new acquaintances. Just today I met a really sweet girl at the supermarket.

~ The blessing of good health and wellness.

~ I am thankful for Turning Point ministry. It truly speaks to me and makes me grow and learn more about the one I love. (Jesus)  Turning Point

~ For answered prayers

~ Days that are sunny and warmer!

This evening, I also want to share with you a video that I enjoyed this afternoon. It is so true that we gals sometimes need to let it go and fully give the Lord full control.
My prayer is that those that read the blog will be encouraged and seek HIM for every part of your journey!
Love to all!

Saturday, November 15, 2014

It is very rare that I am just cozy resting on a Saturday evening. The usual is getting all the errands done, and the house cleaned up, and laundry done before the Sabbath. It has been a day really of just NO worry, and doing what we can,... and then this evening watching a movie. I find in my heart that it is just the slow and simple pace that makes me grateful and have a heart of gratitude! The month of November is the time we stop and reflect on our blessings. Life is messy and tiring a lot of the time, but I am thankful what a BEAUTIFUL mess that it can be.  I have learned that in the messiness is where we cry out to the Lord and grow in strength.

I want to take a few minutes to list some of the things that speak to me, and give me Thanksgiving in my heart.

His word (the Bible) that I can look to for guidance.
His faithfulness that gently leads us to good things, so that we may grow in love and grace.
My husband that stays true. He loves me and the family with all his heart and has tried his best to learn how to show it to us even when he wasn't sure how to.
For our baby (that isn't much of a baby anymore). He amazes me at the strength that he has and how smart he is in facing his challenges.
My sister in Christ that encourages me and makes me want to be a better person.
For those that truly show me and my family love, compassion, and seek to speak life into us.

This is just a beginning, but it is what truly is in my Thankful heart.

At the end here I want to share something I made the other night that I thought turned out cute.  Hope you enjoy seeing it.  It is a burlap pin that I can pin onto my purse or blouse. I am loving it!
Praying that this post will speak to those of you that read, and somehow it will encourage and speak goodness to you to live with a heart of Gratitude!
